Open 6 a.m.- 3 p.m.  

Provide breakfast and lunch during the week. Open in accordance with school holiday and inclement weather schedule (when schools are closed, Journey Home is closed). Has two shower for men, one shower for women. Helps connect people with transitional housing options. Two washers and dryers are available for use. Food boxes are given out in the mornings, first come, first served. Bread is available for the taking. Clothing closet also available.

Emergency shelter, a short-term program that provides nights lodging, showers, laundry, and meals to homeless men, women, and families for up to 30 days at no cost. All persons entering the emergency shelter will be drug screened at intake and will be subject to regular alcohol breathalyzer testing.

Life Recovery program, a variable length program assisting under-resourced homeless men, women, and families to set and achieve financial resources and permanent housing goals. In addition to the daily services provided by the emergency shelter, Life Recovery clients receive structured case management including a variety of life skills classes, and other resources as needed until participant’s financial and housing goals are met. All persons entering the Life Recovery program will be subject to regular alcohol breathalyzer and random drug testing throughout their stay in the program. Life Recovery program participants are charged a weekly program fee.

Both sheltering services can accommodate persons working evening and night shift schedules.

Illegal drug use prior to entry into either sheltering services does not disqualify applicants; however, testing positive while in a program will result in termination of services.

***Intake for persons seeking sheltering services (Emergency and Life Recovery) is Monday – Friday 10 am to 6 pm. Applicants must have one valid form of identification and a social security number. We are unable to provide sheltering services to persons who are minors and are not accompanied by an adult family member, or persons who are registered as sex offenders. The Salvation Army follows the H3ARC coordinated entry policy and offers sheltering services based on applicant need determined during the intake assessment interview.

Can take up to 16 (including children) Provides emergency shelter for women with children on a first-come, first-serve basis. Transitional shelter, the location varies by night. Women with boys over the age of 12 are not allowed.

Coldest Nights   ◘  Open when the temperature is 32 degrees or below.

First Baptist (Men - East Main Street /  Women - St. Paul’s Episcopal) Emergency shelter for single men and women. No children allowed. Must be in the shelter by 9 p.m., must be out of the shelter by 7 a.m. Arrangements will be made with outreach staff for late entry due to work, hospitalization, or police intervention if notified in advance.

Long-term rehabilitative reentry program where women being released from incarceration or drug rehab can restructure life for a better future.

The program is designed to provide 12-months of accountability and empathic case management in a recovery based-environment. In addition, clients in the program receive other direct services such as: transportation, resume-building/job search-assistance, mental health counseling, recovery coaching , access to medical/dental checkups, advocacy in court and with other agencies, and other services as indicated by need.
